I was reading this paper just now, and thought "the text is written in such a weird way", like, it could not even be explained as a "English as a second language" kind of problem. I get to the end, and found out why the text was weird. #AI#GenerativeAI 🧪
It seems worth questioning why/how the authors and/or editors did not catch the poor writing. One of the trade-offs for using LLM stuff is the *extra* time required after it's used for fact-checking and sense-making. (It is more understandable when authors are not writing in their native language.)
Though using Generative AI to write the text of your paper is tempting, especially if your English skills are not great, an author should consider that the text that it generates is really weird.
Had the same recently, but no acknowledgement. It gave me the impression of wasting my time, reading something during more than one hour and thinking they might have written it in 5 minutes...
