This is a tangent, but something that is so funny to me is when people start saying that girls and young women are naturally better suited to thrive in our education system... ...that was built for boys/men only and they were only grudgingly allowed into later.

Oh my goodness thank you for saying this-this point has driven me up the wall for YEARS Rote education & memorisation isn’t suited for boys is a recent concept Historically that’s what a classical education meant for the all male British schools until more modern education practices took hold

i find the implication of that particularly funny "so you designed it for a very narrow slice of men and boys...but actually it turns out to work better for other people? so you admit you're not actually good at designing educational systems for specific populations of students, then?"
