Yesterday, I woke to a distressed doctor in Gaza calling about an Israeli strike on a refugee camp. Hours later, I asked the State Department if the US is enforcing its own laws on aid to states accused of war crimes. They responded by personally accusing me of wanting to end US support to Israel.
The US State Department can’t decide if Israel is blocking aid – but it’ll send bombs either way.
I genuinely do not understand how a critique of liberalism is evil
Remember the great march of return? Was about4-5 years ago. Palestinians went to the gaza border peacefully trying to enter their historic homelands. Like 300 palestinians were killed.
Complaining about childless adults is fundamentally reactionary loser behavior.
"...these latest attacks, and the U.S.’s complicity in them, have confirmed a long-held suspicion—something that Syrians, Iraqis, Palestinians & millions of others in the global south already know: The concepts the US champions...like human rights, equality & justice, do not apply to people here."
Dial Magazine ( @thedialmag.bsky.social ) asked me to write a paragraph about how people in Lebanon (including me) feel about the United States & the upcoming elections. We ended up turning it into a 1500 word reported essay. You can read it here: www.thedial.world/articles/new...
Israel’s attacks in Beirut, and American complicity in them, has confirmed for many Lebanese how little they matter to the United States.
hi fellow cis ppl, i get it. you want to rationalize this as her trying to "appeal to the center/center-right" to get more votes and lock up swing states or whatever. that's fucking bullshit. there's SO MUCH info that restrictions on trans healthcare is not an electoral issue. stop being blind.
I just don't know what is happening here
"There are only two choices: it's either liberal individualism or authoritarianism and if you criticize liberalism, you are a wannabe dictator" This is such a silly critique, I don't even know where to start
The "trans athlete debate" is not really about sports or fairness, but about getting a legal precedent deeming trans women to be men under the law that can be extended to other areas of our lives.
