Sydette explained that not knowing whether an immigrant is specifically Haitian or not is **part of the point**. Someone who wants to commit violence against Haitians won’t be checking if the person he’s tormenting is Haitian, Senegalese, Algerian, etc. It’s targeting Black immigrants.
