If you asked me for the single most important bit of advice I would give a newly out trans or queer person. Get on PrEP. PrEP is a once a day pill you take to make it very hard to get HIV infections (99%). There are resources out there to help you get it even if you don't have insurance.

I started it earlier this year and I'm really glad I did - it's a huge peace of mind to have. And in Canada there's a website you can get it from and they have all sorts of amazing resources called Freddie.
