I think a lot of people confuse being nice or polite with being kind. Being kind, in my opinion, isn’t the same as being nice. Niceness is just that— a nicety. It’s a soothing behavior. Kindness is productive, often reflects what’s best for both parties, and is inclusive of boundaries and nuance.

I used to follow people who I thought would challenge me, but they mostly just annoy me. 1/25 posts make me think pretty hard, but the rest irritate.

I've learned they're just "bots" with playbooks they got from their HOA meeting that can't and don't lend any actual conversation because more times than not, they're just screaming out buzzwords worth ignoring.

I’d add that the idea that people are blocking out hearing other opinions is also a nonsense. Most of us have heard other opinions and don’t see much point in giving them more time. Wrong is wrong. Exposure doesn’t change that. It’s not cobalt.

I block early and often. I value my mental health too highly to beat my head against brick walls.

Boundaries are healthy and the people who think that they aren’t typically have abusive mentalities because that is the background that they have come from. In my experience, some people can be briefly educated, and others need the block.
