Oh, this is such billionaire-protectionist bullshit. Private jets should be banned. gizmodo.com/congress-jus...
Legislation just signed into law has made it exceedingly to difficult to track private jet activity.
So, public data is no longer available to the public?
I can understand putting a 1-4 hour time window law down i.e “cannot track LIVE data but only from the past (X) time” because there’s some genuinely dangerous fans out there , but Outright?! Hell no.
theyll do anything for rich ppl
From a UK perspective it's striking to see how laws lobbied for by the super rich seem to be so easily passed in the national legislature while any meaningfully improved rights and benefits for ordinary people hardly ever pass. It'd be an unthinkable state of affairs here—we'd call it corruption.
Why do private jets even exist. Why can’t people use first class on planes? Or helicopters?
this sounds like someone who doesn't know better asking "please do LADD but more"? I don't see anything to suggest it'll change the actual trackability via independent receiver networks (thank goodness)
They should be. Probably. But the since the concert schedule of rock stars is absolutely public, the rationalization that it would be difficult to impossible to quantify their carbon footprint is shit of the bull, as they say.
This will backfire. Some billionaire's jet will go down somewhere and nobody will be able to help the authorities because they couldn't track the jet.
If we can’t shoot them from the sky because we are pacifists, we can vandalized them. Yes, vandalized is okay too.
