a nation that can produce enough arms to dominate fully half the planet can surely maintain readiness to mount internal emergency relief (who am I kidding, they're ready to airdrop arms or bribe money, but food is a step too far)

I hate how they are going to (and have been) make every disaster worse through intentionally dismantling preparedness and response infrastructure, and then blame their political enemies, immigrants, and other marginalized groups who had nothing to do w/ it, and everyone will just go along w/ it
