"'Audit the MTA” is a charade, a Batman villain’s smoke bomb, that has allowed Albany to get away with bartering the region’s lifeblood — its transit system — for political favors for decades and at little political cost." -- www.vitalcitynyc.org/articles/why...

no one wants to hear it but the main obstacle to new housing is affluent incumbent homeowners using the state to protect their investments

Don’t use thesaurus dot com anyway, they switched from a human generated thesaurus to an AI generated one about a year ago. You can really tell on words like “decaf” where the words used are associated with decaf (coffee words) but are actual antonyms.

decaf

Anecdotal but have read and heard there's a non insignificant number of the membership that still prefers Trump, despite his disdain for unions and policies diametrically opposed. My assumption is it's the main reason for the non endorse. Interesting to get some reporting on membership lean/why.

Correct on East Side. Total giveaway and still, in the end, less useful than any portion of 2nd Ave. That said, we can't go on spending 4Bil+ for every expansion and expect to get sexy proposals/results. Construction & cost reform has to bring us closer to Euro peers if we're to get anywhere.

Image of wiki page for second ave subway describing the cost for phases 1 and 2: "The first phase of the line, consisting of the 96th Street, 86th Street and 72nd Street stations, as well as 1.8 mi (2.9 km) of tunnel, cost $4.45 billion. A 1.5-mile (2.4 km), $6 billion second phase from 96th to 125th Streets is almost ready to start construction as of 2024."

A big thank you for the update and keeping it going. Still a great way to enjoy things on Sky.

Just searched the design in SF and I think that'd work well indeed. Course, funding permitting. (Still crossing fingers on some form of congestion pricing making it through post election.)

If I'm not mistaken was there a pilot for new fare gates? If so, did the MTA settle on the design (and is it the one in the pic)?
