playing dnd and my dm keeps having to nerf my character lmao why can't I just hit enemies with my whip in peace

if a build is too autopiloty there should be balances in the fights and challenges towards it, not nerfs to it T.T nerfing is really only good if it detracts from other players' fun

Rune Knight with a whip.. assuming level 3 with a 15 in strength, you'd be doing.. 1d4+1d6+2 per hit. Not using any additional runes or making it 2d4 due to size (I hate using that rule for players. It's unbalanced.)

As a DM.....I just made harder enemies. Keep on with the whip all you want, just be ready for harder fights.

Don't forget a whip can be pretty versatile for things other than attacking.

Is it homebrew?? Feels kinda yuck if you're just building normal and gettin nerfed..

That means your DM needs to use a little more tactics in battle, maybe bring a spellcaster in to try and pick you off, not nerf you. That's rude.
