This is it. My special birthday trip to Korea and Japan is now coming to an end. It is difficult to properly express all of my thoughts at the moment, but I will say that I am thankful for all of the experiences I have had over the past nearly-6 weeks. (1/2)
I had been missing Japan since the day I left nearly 16 years ago. The 2 weeks have been fulfilling beyond measure, and yet, for as much as I was able to see and experience, there remains much still on my list that I will have to save for another time... hopefully sooner than 16 years from now.
The first portion of this trip has been enjoyable and meaningful, from the majesty of Seoul to the history of Gyeongju to the bustle of Busan. Now, the adventure continues as I travel from the Land of the Morning Calm to the Land of the Rising Sun! (1/2)
2 weeks into my 40s and taking stock of my life's journey, my goal at the moment is to concentrate on the things that bring me happiness and fulfillment -- bonus points if they are also things that my younger self would think are cool. (1/2)
Survived another trip around the sun! As I begin a new decade and leave my 30s behind, my birthday wish is to rekindle the spark and recapture the promise, hope, and ambition that I was filled with 10 years ago. Onward to more adventures! #ThisIs40#40IsTheNew30
OTD 25 years ago (Apr. 10, 1999), I had my first concert premiere! The Hamilton Suzuki School of Music Camerata String Orchestra (cond. Steeve Chwojko) performed my Fugue in G as one of the winning pieces in their inaugural Young Composers Competition. (1/2)
