Thanks! Friends of mine and I race them in the SCCA, these are either IT7 or SRX7 class cars, but some will be moving to other classes next year
Have helmet and HANS, will sometimes, maybe, occasionally race...slowly, very very very slowly 😀 Brap brap brap Jim Downing, co-inventor of the HANS Device was also an RX7 racer albeit much much much faster and much much much more successful than I
There must have been a reason why the previous owner put the oil cooler in such a vulnerable position but it will be moved and mounted out of harm's way but still in good airflow way
Empty place on one of the RX7 Race Cars where Coilover will go along with some 4-piston brakes and FC Hub for better braking and hopefully none of that brake rotor cracking issue that SRX7s have
Cool IT7 "trick" here - the Tri-Link Suspension doesn't like the upper suspension link but SCCA GCR says that IT cars need to maintain it, so racers put basically NO Bushing up there, just a little bit of foam and that is all Going to another class, this won't matter but interesting none-the-less
Brap Brap Brap! Started up without any issue (looks around, knocks wood, throws salt over his shoulder) If you notice, the fill for the radiator is on the wrong side, there is a small cut in the hood to accommodate that as well as the re-routing of the hoses - nice Griffin RAD-i-ator
Other RX7 Race Car - this one has Twin MSD Boxes - despite having red fenders in this pic, the fenders are going to be white* * unless they are still red, or maybe black
More brappy goodness - before the hood was put on and the pop-up headlights installed Happy with the way the painting of the pop-up headlights went Hood primed and drying
One of the RX7 Race Cars coming together - engine happily brap brap braps - Coil Over Front Suspension, Tri-Link Rear with an Adjustable Swaybar - should be fun to throw around Summit Point next year
