It's easy to get stuck pursuing an idealized indie game - the Fez of Brazil, India, Peru, etc But that ignores the material conditions of each country. Maybe our top indies are not platformers with pixel art, but a mod for a PS2 soccer game - that's still being updated because BRs still play on PS2
curiously enough, "indie" *is* a material condition descriptor first and foremost; the particular, crystallized aesthetics and ethics of it obfuscate any pursuit to the point of meaninglessness
