Yup you can use it multiple times! Each don attached to a character or leader counts as 1 cost reduction, so using the 2c2k brook that attaches 2 don with his on play ability it would allow you to reduce a character by 2. Just has to be 7c or lower for his leader effect to proc.
Garp with Jack is such a fun combo, the gecko plays generally feel bad in it unless you want to use gecko for Rebecca + reduction, then it's not as bad. My favorite 10 don play was gecko > Becca > brook 2k, add 2 more don to leader and Jack to KO a 7c and swing 7k with lead
I've found this to work very well into them, they need to see like 2 or 3 jimbe/weevil combos in a row to keep up, Cavendish, carrot, kid and Doffy put in work
Try out the starve technique for Doffy, you can build up a big board and eventually follow into 8c kid and since their biggest body is a 6k body, they have to invest a lot of don to even touch him. Get a carrot out on top of kid and it's very to get them low in cards and have a killer snap back

Definitely! Being able to rest and the new op08 chopper helps if you want to flood board, or you can rest and the EB01 blocker chopper to really reduce a characters power to make sure it's KOd, or rest and Cavendish for extra don plays, or restand Kid and killer to get really strong attacks through
Ones that come to mind are rosinante running the 7 drop green Doffy that rests on attack(mini bonney at that point) , red uta aggro package with 1 drop galore, RG Luffy using the animal engine to restand chopper and search twice was a fun one lol Currently building green oden and RP uta
