This is mostly true, but I work with college students every day and still have no idea what they're into besides coffee and ill-advised moustaches

I feel like there needs to be a rule that if you're over 35 and want to talk authoritatively about what people under 25 are into, you have to a) have regular contact with them & b) do so in a mostly non-online setting. I feel that this alone would spare us from like 75% of commentary easily.

Eh, not saying we're experts but I think we've at least got a bit of a better idea than someone whose experience mostly amounts to "I look at TikTok or Instagram a lot" just by sheer virtue of sharing space with groups of them for months at a time.
