My favorite is this reply:

Email with header "Re: [EXLIBRIS-L] tips for getting cigarette smell out of books?" and reply from "vjz@tavbooks.com" with just a shocked flushed emoji.

LMAOOOO okay I did not make the connection about the Carnegie thefts. The suggestions to check in with them are 1000% more hilarious now, thank you.

I went off digest mode only so I could stay up to date on scuffles as they unfold

If you have a chance, visit the Lilly Library exhibition Love in the Library — The Romance Novel in English. It’s based in part on the romance collection I sold them, curated by @arkhamlibrarian.bsky.socialwww.idsnews.com/article/2024...

Banner of Lilly Exhibit, with name as in the tweet — a pink background with a couple passionately kissing in the corner

I guess it just hadn't come up yet but it turns out that Zotero has had a feature to let you know when an article in your database has been retracted. It will even pop-up a warning if you try to cite that article. Just had two articles flagged as retracted. This is a great service.

Zotero Blog » Blog Archive » Retracted item notifications with Retraction Watch integration

Zotero is a free, easy-to-use tool to help you collect, organize, cite, and share research.
