I’ve been to a pride parade where hundreds of people clapped and cheered for me. I hardly noticed the one person with a Bible verse on a sign. Have you ever been to a Texas State Park? Looked at the birds, the armadillos? Ever been to a Texas beach? Picked up shells and fossils? Watched the ocean?

Texas is full of the beauty of nature. If you’ve never seen it, I pity you, but I also don’t want to hear about how I should just pack up and leave it all behind. Texas is my home. I hate that bad people have the power to make it worse and do just that, but that doesn’t mean I should abandon it.

WE GOT WHOOPIN' CRANES (well, we were the only place until about a decade ago, when Florida got its own migratory herd, thanks Endangered Species Act!)

It's a lovely place for all the reasons you name and more! It's enraging that it's been so decimated by the political apparatus.
