Orange pineapple at The Junction between Ipswich and Essex Massachusetts. Sadly, they are no longer in business. I have never found orange pineapple elsewhere that comes close.

If the crystal is harder than the streak plate, then you are seeing powdered streak. A piece of hematite appears black but has a reddish brown streak as very thin flakes of hematite have a reddish color. Something similar may be at play with your crystal.

I grew up in Hamburg, just south of Buffao, from late 40's to mid 60's when winters were real winters. We knew where to park when we went in winter. Always got a chuckle at the tourists that parked in the mist fallout. Their cars would be ice cubes.
