i never thought i would outgrow videogames bc i didnt expect the gaming industry to actively take my bad habits away from me like this.

if the gaming industry is going to collapse into a pile of burning shit, replacing everything with subscriptions, mtx, gambling , etc, driving things like emulators & art preservation deep underground i dont see a reason to participate anymore, at least with my money.

i support nintendo's goal of making enjoying videogames as shitty & as pointless of an experience as possible, discouraging me from finding even the tiniest bit of sanctuary within a pithy pokemon rom & encouraging me to do something else like read a book or practice guitar.

but yeah i definitely have an overactive imagination & sometimes i cam be really convincing bc im explaining something really intricate & well thought out but not real & unless i say with certainty it's not real someone else might start believing me even if i dont believe it myself.

like i never straight up said "there's a ghost in your house" i just mostly said stuff like "people have been living around here for a long time so it's not unlikely" & i didnt understand that would send most other kids minds into total overdrive. i just thought it was kind of cool.

i would also pull this shit at sleepovers too not in purpose its just that i used to be obsessed with ghost stories & then someone would inevitably ask me if i thought ghosts were real & i said yes. they're everywhere & watching is but mostly harmless & only appear to people who start to notice them

the worst part is when you think you're wrong but you sounded so confident the first time that other people believe what you said more than you do, & reinforce it even though contradicting it yourself. & then you start to believe it with more certainty

i remember when i was on a camping trip w my sunday school & i had everyone freaked out bc i thought i saw some old man walking around after the camp staff told us we were the only group there. i never saw his face though so it was likely someone from our group in different clothes or something.

this has to be what it feels like to be a director for some kind of creative project, like a TV show, or a movie or game. (a good one, i mean)
