The Michaelmas Daisy-today is Michaelmas, the Christian Feast Day of St Michael the Archangel. The Day marks the end of the harvest, the beginning of autumn and the shortening of the days. The flower symbolises farewell and transition and the act of giving it symbolises as if saying farewell.
