worst thing these games can do is bottleneck you on the first run by introducing a much harder first boss (that doesn't even actually normally appear there) that's guaranteed to kill you so the game can explain the death/upgrade system.

I'd love for businesses to drop the whole "we've been struggling to keep employees because of the pandemic" and just come out and say "people smartened up about livable wages, but we refuse to change."

I haven't played it, but Little Kitty, Big City looks a lot closer to how it should have been.
