This social media pseudo-psychology is often not helpful to those with clinical depression. I have support, spend time in nature, care for pets, exercise, rest, and enjoy music daily. Yet, I’m often suicidal. “Cheap” dopamine from jokes/interactions on BlueSky helps, and that’s okay—I’m still here.​

A pseudo-psychology post from Instagram about achieving optimal wellbeing often not helpful to those with depression, mental illness or chronic illness that reads: YOUR BRAIN DOESN'T NEED MORE CHEAP DOPAMINE. IT NEEDS CONNECTION, SUNSHINE, NATURE, REST, EXERCISE, AND SOME GOOD MUSIC.
