I definitely recommend writing explicit sex scenes, if only as an exercise that powers you through your internalized cringe. Being able to write intimacy is a core skill, and it'll be important if you want to write in a style worth a damn, even if you aren't doing per se erotica.

Seriously. Just block out a short story that has sex in it, bang that shit out, and see how you feel about it. Thumbnail a short comic or something. Whatever your skill set works best for.

oof! I NEVER manage to end writing a sex scene, the charters just start talking or something interesting or funny happens and it gets derailed to a different mood :D
