Which light microscope objective do you use to view the cells? Was always the best way to teach undergraduate students the difference, especially between fungi/ yeasts and actinomycetes in practical classes. Perhaps not as simple now…🙂

Yes, this would be a good exercise! Esp if we had some clear-cut obviously different cells, and then some cases that are much harder to tell apart.
