Everybody agrees Amazon is the worst, but we still keep shopping there. All we creators can do is be where the customers are and pay our 30% tithe to Bezos.

This is a retail book from a major publisher, so Amazon are getting the largest slice between the three of us — they have a negotiated discount that's better than the 50% off of cover that regular bookstores get, and as a result I get a significantly reduced royalty.
