I poked around the edges of it, but then realized I'd rather have a human take on it anyway. What gives?
A rules subset of the Magic the Gathering card game banned some unbalanced cards with high monetary value, thus tanking their value somewhat. People with those cards simultaneously whined to WotC while harassing the organizers of the subset, somehow resulting in WotC taking it over.
