Do that too (for journey info and ticket pricing but maybe not the purchasing). Thereās also huge value in owning the main passenger experience though - eg easier to communicate disruptions and to process refunds. The app & website could also have its code open to allow external contributions.
I so hope we get to the point of a single national rail app and website, to replace the confusing current mess of them! š¤
I am travelling to Leeds from Kingās Cross today and ahhhh so much nicer. My wife says the new departure boards at Euston give her migraines - too bright I think. The old orange LED ones are much nicer (although possibly less accessible).
Welcome!
I had always assumed this was to enable the night tube to run when the station was closed. But according to the article itās to help manage overcrowding.
It was an ordeal. Train was half an hour late too. This article from today sums it up pretty well: www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024...
Ugly, overcrowded and undermined by dithering over HS2, the unwieldy terminus needs an urgent rethink ā or at least a few less digital billboards
Boo! Thereās a whole bunch of guidance on this. Itās a very tricky topic. But having write-in options is essential. And all the questions should be optional. Should also be very clear how the data is used! (Sorry, itās a sore point for me as I spent 2 years working on gov ethnicity data.)
Was there a write-in option, as on design-system.service.gov.uk/patterns/equ...? I tried to get āOther ethnic groupā reworded to āAnotherā at one point (doesnāt solve everything but we had evidence it came across better). Failed though.
If it can just be public content then any cms would be ok? Iām dubious of the value of platforms that have logins and track āprogressā but maybe there is some?
We got on it, just. Big queue. No seats left on train but thankfully someone gave theirs up for the kids. Hour and a half of standing for me though.
