Amusingly enough the people I found most toxic were FOSS dudes. I had to stop using any hashtags or ever complain about anything windows (which I'm going to keep using) because it invited the weirdest people into my mentions. It's 1 of those "I like the concept of open source and Linux but the ppl"

oh yeah exactly. I'm running Windows rn as well but I've got experience with Linux and... yeah. I think I became a broken record talking about that sorta thing lol. That sorta reason is why I left Lemmy, actually. (imagine Reddit but networked to Mastodon and you'll understand why.)
