In addition to the excellent suggestion about traffic--and there WILL be traffic--think about bathroom availability where you plan to view the eclipse. For the previous eclipse, I encountered heavy traffic GOING as well. Also, you might want to have an eclipse map with you as a Plan B. Enjoy!
