While I agree that privatization is a mistake, and hate Elon as much as the next person, the Falcon 9 and heavy are pretty large leaps forward in spacelaunch technology. Landing and reusing first stages is something engineers have dreamed of since the 50s.

They're not trapped. Starliner has issues, but the narrative that NASA trapped two astronauts in space is objectively false.
