Well said, I've been on Twitter for years and don't like the direction it's heading, sadly. Currently trying out this and Threads, both seem fairly equal at the moment.

I feel the same but Twitter just became too toxic. The voices I wanted to hear were lost and there was a gradual shift to more ‘broadcasting’ and less interaction. I’m hopeful that this will prove to be a more pleasant space.

Wholeheartedly agree. I joined twitter at my first school (2014!) and was an active user up until about 18 months ago when it just was too much. Hoping to have found a place to unite in my geekiness again!

Spot on. I came to it fairly late and didn't contribute much but it really did feel like an incredibly supportive place where people could 'agree disagreeably' until the last year or so. People like yourself fundamentally changed the way I think about our profession. Thank you

2/… In its best days, EduTwitter really was the best and biggest staffroom in the world. I don’t believe for a second that it’s not ‘the real world’ - I think that reality exists wherever people are…

I think algorithms, big names and commercialised profiles led to it being less of a community & more of mosh pit. I’m loving the positive, respectful conversations here. I’m following people freely & without bias because it feels safe to do that now. 🥰
