Adding more -Panama City, Panama -Colombia -Uruguay (less realistic, they DO have ARFF) -BRAZIL!!! (there should be at least 5 more in addition to Brasil FurFest) -Hokkaido, Japan -Fukuoka, Japan -Merida, Yucatan, Mexico -Upstate NY, USA -Surabaya, Indonesia -India?????
Places that SHOULD have a furry convention that currently (afaik) don't: -Austin, Texas, USA -Spain -Central/Southern Italy -Portugal -Florida (besides Megaplex) -Monterrey (besides Mercadowo (which looks amazing omg) -Omaha (this one is less realistic than the others)
...being different things ran by different people. The arts festival, which includes a section for kids to make arts and such, is... fascinating. It's probably making the Netherlands one of the most mainstream furry nation in the world, only behind Taiwan. (2/2)
Just updated the map/calendar and I've added like 4 or 5 new conventions to it. TWO of those are in Santiago, Chile! Quite exciting. Also surprising is the Otterdam Furry Arts Festival (otterdam.art), which is in the same city as a furdance and Reffurence, despite all three... (1/2)
I found a potential google mymaps alternative in Felt.com. My only qualm is that after the free trial ends, I won't be able to import directly from Google MyMaps. Also, the imported layer looks... not ideal. Going to try to import by hand instead, which will take longer.
Build maps, apps, and dashboards in seconds. Felt is the first and only cloud-native GIS platform, empowering everyone in your organization with GIS superpowers.
Finding other friends at the meets is important, because there's smaller events that aren't advertised publicly too (house parties, for example, if you're into those). That should cover everything! If I missed anything let me know and I'll add it to the thread!
Final step is to simply... go to the furmeet! Put it in your calendar, find transportation to it, and just go. If you're introverted, don't worry if you get shy and try to make at least one other friend or contact on Telegram. Often, they will invite you to other meets as well.
Third step is to simply ask in the chat "I live in [area], do any of you know of any furmeets near me?" or something along those lines. They might direct you to a pinned message (feel free to check those too), but asking is the best way to get answers quickly IMO.
A lot of these telegram chats will have smaller entry rooms before you're let into the actual channels. Just be honest about you being new in the community (for example) and you'll be fine. A lot of these areas will also have separate NSFW and SFW chats as well. Do with that what you will.
Second step is to find your local telegram group. This is as simple as looking it up. Furlist telegram will be ESPECIALLY helpful. www.furry-telegram-groups.net#logint.me/furrychatssfw
