This is exactly me. I die of shame.

Years ago I took epidemiology classes to learn about how epi thinks about causation, only to discover they avoid causal language. Now I am the person in uni committees saying "but we don't actually KNOW what caused that". I don't know when this happened. The epi classes didn't 'cause' it.

I always need to tell people that my VC in South Africa donated half his salary so that poor kids in the nearby township could attend the University. This is now in a trust that continues to support students. It really doesn't need to be the way it is in the UK.
