I could never verify the story but ~20yrs ago I was told about a south coast university that welcomed someone claiming to be a visiting professor. It was only when a cleaner complained about him walking round naked they investigated and discovered he was actually homeless and had blagged his way in.
I do 10-days-over-9 and thankfully holiday is still in days, but I used to do 0.8fte with leave in hours and it was a nightmare (though they always calculated it wrong, to my benefit!) But compressed working hours AND part time working - that's Inception-level HR stuff. Good luck.
