The ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ pipeline proposal is a bold move. It has huge potential. But is needs practical fixes to capacity, regulation, market scope, and geopolitical risk. Something more cooperative and resilient. A real win-win. Hopefully that is the direction we are heading in...END/

Have ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ and ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ done all of their homework? Who are the third party diplomatic actors (๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ) that they've consulted with and is everyone on the same page? Are the commercial actors satisfied with how things are progressing? What are their concerns? I have questions. 22/

I'm not poking holes because I don't endorse the idea - I've advocated for a ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ energy cooperation for quite some time, and for a number of different reasons. But there are risks to getting such complicated processes wrong. Always important to do your homework. 21/

D) To mitigate regional tensions, Israel must work toward a broader East Med energy framework that includes other regional players. This approach would strengthen alliances and potentially prevent projects from being derailed by spoilers. 20/

C) To make the project viable, the gas needs to access a larger market beyond Cyprus. This means connecting with Europe or other regions that can provide steady demand. Without a larger market, I don't see how this project is feasible. 19/

B) As I mentioned, ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ's export policies are a major obstacle. To make exports feasible, it would need to align export policies and work with ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ on a unified regulatory framework. This would ensure legal stability and signal reliability to all stakeholders. 18/

๐Ÿงฉ Still, I like to problem solve - so how could it all work? A) I spoke to one industry exec and he said ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ needs a plan to boost production at Karish and Tanin and secure the necessary funding to handle expanded exports. Clear capacity targets and investment backing are key to moving forward. 17/

So this could all be noise spread by a government minister looking for ways to be relevant. 16/

In sum, the projectโ€™s regulatory, financial, legal, and geopolitical concerns make this a high-risk affair, and might deter private investors who would need a clearer return on investment before committing their ๐Ÿ’ฐ. 15/

๐Ÿƒ Finally, let's address the geopolitical wildcards. 1) ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ทTurkey, who has shown past resistance to ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ energy projects and 2) Hezbollah who threatened ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ for its cooperation with ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ during the war. How have the parties prepared for a potential diplomatic/security fallout? 14/
