UPDATE. Some of folks were saying the SD card may be the problem. After taking it out, shutting down and putting it back in - experiencing the same issues and doing the whole process again, it's back to normal! The system works. Social media I mean. Thank you.

Okay that did very little. I think I may have to...open it up and clean it?! It looks...fairly easy?! And truly what do I have to lose?

My Nintendo Switch is running super slow. I look online and someone suggested powering it down completely, a suggestion which I'd usually scoff at - until I realised my Switch has essentially been powered on since 2017. Maybe a quick shut down is in order.
