When you hear about high suicide rates among trans people never forget that it is a policy choice. One in ten trans youth attempted suicide in the past year not because of who they are but because of how a transphobic society treats them. The kids are not what's broken.

That's the new Times article? The mention, but don't sufficiently emphasize, state-sponsored violence (legislation) against trans people.
