Because I have already had to defend "adults" trick or treating today. Here it is for everyone. NO ONE can reliably tell age. What you may think is a 20 year old might be a tall 11 year old who got hit hard by puberty and just wants to trick or treat with her cousins. Give everyone candy!

Come to the door, you get candy. You also get to pet Lennie and to have Gail bark at you. You cannot swap candy for one of the dogs - a small princess tried that once. Lennie provides all the tricks and the dogs have costumes even if you do not.

I was 24 and got carded for a rated R movie while on a date. So... Yeah.

I actually was that 12 year old kid who was out trick or treating with my little sister and got asked, "Aren't you a little old to be trick or treating?" I'm 29 now and that still haunts me haha

My 12 year old is 5’9” tall and she is taller than most of her classmates and teachers.

I’m terrible at judging how much candy to buy so I’m giving it out by the fistful because otherwise I eat candy for months so I do not understand this. It’s not diamonds, folks! No scarcity! Give people candy, it’s a frickin holiday, we’re supposed to be doing childlike joy here!

My favorite group of trick or treaters are on the older side, maybe high school, because managing to delight them feels like more of an accomplishment.
