Definitely must be Hungarian paprika. That’s why Wanda has that line “this is not paprika…” Otherwise a pretty simple recipe

Pride of Szeged Hungarian Paprika in Sweet and Hot
1 teaspoon sea salt, finely ground
1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, chopped
4 tablespoons butter
1 medium yellow onion, diced
1 tablespoon garlic, finely minced
1 red bell pepper, diced
3 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons Hungarian paprika
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (if sweet paprika, omit if hot)
1 1/2 cups chicken stock
1 cup creme fraiche (or sour cream)
Minced parsley (garnish)

1. In a medium bowl, toss 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (chopped) with 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
2. Melt 4 tbs butter in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat and
2. sauté a yellow onion (minced) until translucent, about 5 minutes
3. Add 1 tbs minced garlic and 1-2 red bell peppers (minced) and saute, about 1 minute more
4. Sprinkle in 3 tbs flour, 4 tbs Hungarian paprika, and 1 tsp red pepper flakes and cook for just about 1 minute, stirring constantly, until the paprika is fragrant and it no longer smells of raw flour
5. Slowly stream in 1 1/2 c chicken stock, stirring to prevent lumps. Bring to a boil
6. Add the chicken, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thickened and chicken is tender and cooked through ~20 minutes
7. Remove from the heat and stir in 1 c creme fraiche, taste and adjust seasonings, then garnish with minced parsley, and serve with egg noodles
