My column this week is about how even the most basic Covid precautions have been stood down, leaving clinically vulnerable people trapped in their homes and accelerating what threatens to become a major surge this autumn. TL;DR: they couldn't give a damn about us. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Thank you for speaking out on the impact this is having on disabled people. And thanks for mentioning airborne transmission! All we can do is educate our communities, provide resources where possible and push for better. Public health are not educating on airborne transmission or accumulated risks
I posted about there being no other masked people, staff or patients last weekend, when I went for my jabs. The replies I got included some even worse stories. THis suggests NHS sabotage and govt interference run deeper than I'd thought. We must Re-Public the NHS.
Thank you for this piece.
In the Venn diagram of Covid-aware & climate-conscious people I follow or know, you're one of the few in the tiny overlapping area. I wish it was a much larger overlap, but it's heartening to see you using your platform to speak truth to power about Covid. Thank you.
Thank you, George. Can this dire situation ever be reversed?
Do you think there is an issue with test accuracy? Have been doing informal research and found a number of people (including me) who have/had typical Covid symptoms and have tested repeatedly, but always show up negative. Are the tests dud, or does the Government want to reduce case numbers?
Thank you for this
Thank you. This is excellent. And it's not just the UK. Australia & NZ creep ever closer abandoning all airborne mitigations. Our stats are already more fiction than fact.
Thank you for calling out the ableism and sheer blindness in this policy, George. While the anti-mask brigade seem to have won, surely healthcare settings are one area where even most of them can see the validity of taking this most basic of precautions? Sadly, with this govt it seems not.
As one of those people stuck at home, thank you very much for this!
