I tried to have this conversation with my aunt quite a few years ago and she really wasn't getting it, when I told her that Canada wasn't decolonized she argued and said it was and I tried to explain the indigenous perspective but she just didn't get it.
But, but, but...you'll hurt white people's feelings. Note: I'm a white person who wants accurate history warts and all.
