I keep subtitles on for everything, because I don't trust any of the following people: * Sound mixers * Actors attempting an accent * Myself ("Oh hey, that's Leland Orser, remember, he was in... wait, what'd he say?")
Subtitles are for musicians who are practicing their instrument to know what's going on, as well as all other reasons in this thread.

I'm pretty sure I can work out if a character is eating chips without reading the subtitles.
