Reading our student policies also, I just feel this is all going to take a few years to work out. The issue it raises feel unlike anything we have ever dealt with before. To me anyway.
I agree it's causing all sorts of problems but I can't see that saying it's not allowed would make any difference - impossible to police, and only the weak uses of it are obvious - my instinct is that most use by academics would be undectable. Not sure what a good policy would/could look like.
I think it's very pragmatic on the writing of applications; the issue for using it to undertake reviews is you would have to give highly confidential information (i.e. the grant application itself) to OpenAI/other. How can any funder sanction that?
New FCA stats show just over half of all pension pots still cashed out in full at retirement and use of financial advice down slightly. Just over 2 in 3 of all at-retirement decisions are unadvised. Time for the FCA to get serious about making sure people get the help they need to make good choices.
