I remember seeing GFX/VFX discord communities back in 2018 before vtubers. It was... A short way to say design graphics and motion graphics. A handful made those generic XxX_gamer_XxX graphics by hand back then but It was almost daily to see stolen designs :/

Honestly VFX is less of a red flag because vis dev people DO call it that a lot more often than anyone ever legitimately says "gfx".
