Speed camera discourse is yet another reminder that a lot of people that claim to be leftists online are actually crypto libertarians who think “I should be able to break the law in my car without consequence” is a valid position

I remember people complaining about NYC lodging the speed limit because they were getting hundred of dollars in tickets per month from school speed zone cameras
When “be gay, do crimes” actually means “endanger others with your car going vroom fast” not something cool like civil disobedience
My issue with speed cameras is that they used only to enforce speeding(And in Brazil it's far easier to get a ticket for driving above the speed limits in highways than in cities), but since there are modern models that promise to enforce even smartphone use I'm being won even here.
