I know I'm gonna get some flak for this or at least side-eye, but I do like my new sword rather a lot. It looks banged up and relatively unpolished and I think that's just lovely.

A sword and sheath laying on a bed. The sheath is above the sword. The sheath is brown leather with 10 brass rivets, and a belt loop. The sword is relatively unpolished, with many markings along the blade, which is somewhat reminiscent of a Cutlass. However, the hilt is styled more like you might find on a Chinese sabre, and is wrapped in leather.
