It took me quite a long time to explain this concept to my kids ... and I guess there aren't so many parents who bother explaining these types of legal nuances. I hope Australia starts doing this too www.polygon.com/news/457071/...

New California law means digital stores can’t imply you’re buying a game when you’re merely licensing it
New California law means digital stores can’t imply you’re buying a game when you’re merely licensing it

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 2426 into law, meaning that digital storefronts have to be upfront about licensing.

there are Neanderthal gravesites where the remains of disabled children show they were cared for and included 500,000 years ago and Stone Age gravesites where disabled people were buried with MORE riches than the abled but keep on thinking disability inclusion is a modern invention

Auf Youtube hat BiteMe Games gesagt, dass Point-and-Click-Spiele in Deutschland sehr beliebt sind- kann das bitte jemand genauer erklären? I was watching BiteMe games, and they mentioned #pointandclick games are big in Germany - can anyone tell me more about that, please?

And/or Google is now treating the UK like a country that doesn't matter much. Tech companies have always threatened Australia with being "left behind" & asked us to change our laws & bend over backwards. It's part of the normal way they speak to us. Maybe the surprise is disrespecting the UK also?

In many instances, I work as a note-giver. Even with a human operator, AI just can't take notes properly & come back with anything useful. Inserting AI into art production slows the process way down. Ever look at an AI-arted card game? Are any characters repeated across cards, in different poses? 👀

As we approach Banned Books week, here's my annual reminder: If you're going to partake, buy and read banned books from *living* authors. The Bradbury and Vonnegut estates don't need your money, but Maia Kobabe probably does.

I would love to be added. I work (part-time) on paper games but am thinking of branching out into video games

It's disheartening and irritating to see as more right wing, reactionary, terfy and bigoted people show up on this site that we are being told our reaction to those bad actors will be more heavily policed. Why is it downstream rudeness, not upstream hatred and prejudice, is where we focus attention?
