As someone who's aging myself, and with a pre-existing disability that affects my mobility, the thing I worry most about (at least for financial issues) is being able to afford the care I'm likely to need in the coming years, despite being frugal my whole life to have a nest egg for final expenses.

If you're on Instagram, check out heidiwranglescats. She does a lot of tnr, and she shares suggestions for new trappers. Also, it's just a fun account.

With the exception of one cat who loved cantaloupe (seriously), my cats (quite a few over the years) have never been very interested in human food. Not cheese, not tuna, not chicken/turkey. Nothing. I'd gotten used to it, never cover food, so a temporary cat took me unawares by liking human food.

Wow! This is great. Love that one of the beneficiaries of RtV, Voteriders was also in the list.

And so much of the sorrow isn't for me, personally, for what *I* lost. It's for what the pet lost, when she left the world too soon, sorrow for all the catnip she didn't get to roll around in, the mice she didn't get to chase, and everything else she missed out on. An AI can't give her anything.

Back when I was a real estate lawyer (a million years ago), I used to say that you WANT there to be glitches before the closing, because there are ALWAYS glitches, and if you don't fulfill your quote of them before the closing, they happen DURING the closing, and that's worse.

There's such an odd mix of science knowledge & ignorance on metabolic issues. New study on my rare disorder known to correlate with obesity established that we do NOT have the same increased risk of diabetes as general population w/ obesity. No idea why. We need causative models, not correlation

I'll second the recommendation for rice. I've been using it that way as a quick version of dirty rice, with a bit of ground beef and extra onions and peppers (I think there are some dried bits of each in the mix).

I was just going to suggest that. Available through your local PBS station w/ the Passport program (in other words, if you donate to the station, which I do anyway). Really love the character arc of friendship between the two leads.
