Well, it's totally possible that suppression from the previous HCU classifier could be released (or feel like it's released) if/when more systems are updated. Here's a slide from my 2016 presentation about this. And here's Barry's post from the time about it. Again, stay tuned.

More re: possible Sep HCU(X) changes in the remaining 1.5 weeks of the rollout. When Penguin 4 was released & Google began devaluing links vs penalizing, G released prev Penguin suppression. It was amazing to watch as sites began to surge that were held down. I covered that heavily at the time...

Quick Manual Actions Update: I ran the visibility numbers for 1,000 sites deindexed by pure spam manual actions and the drops are insane. I didn't see one bounce back, get reindexed, etc. out of the 1K list. Here are two examples showing visibility drops across both ahrefs and semrush. Oof.

And yep, it's just forums. Social media sites are gone, including videos from YouTube, TikTok, and more like Perspectives had. Big move. Let's see how it goes. Great for forums I guess. :) Forums filter is now live, replaces Perspectives Story from @rustybrick.com has been updated:

I think a lot of people missed that in Google's blog post about the March update -> Danny reiterated yesterday: "When the update is finished, as we shared in our blog post, we'll open up a feedback form specifically so creators can share examples that we can explore further."

Whoa, just saw a beta feature pop up on LinkedIn called "Takeaways". It uses AI to summarize a post and can answer questions about the post, or anything else. It's basically LinkedIn's ChatGPT or Gemini from what I can see. When asking questions, I don't see any citations or links btw...

Interested in Discover? 1) make sure your images can show up properly. See the first screenshot. 2) job listings can show up based on topics you follow or companies you are interested in. This once again underscores how hard it is to track Discover since everyone's feed is so unique...

Great catch by Nicholas McDonough. SGE reporting in Semrush looks like it's coming soon. You can't filter by it yet in the Sensor reporting & it's not in the organic research reporting yet, but looks like it's coming. Also, I heard from Semrush that it is active for position tracking (rank tracking)

Makes sense. I'm sure few people understood what "Perspectives" meant. So Google's testing yielded much more engagement with "Forums" as the filter. And not all perspectives features are changing to "Forums". You can read @rustybrick.com's post for more information

Google to replace perspectives filter with forums filter
Google to replace perspectives filter with forums filter

The perspectives carousels, clusters and traditional web page listings will remain.
