These ideas always look great ā¦ until you do the math.
The math on regenerative grazing being a big carbon solution doesn't add up. Simply put, grass fed beef emits more CO2 and CH4, and soils carbon storage (which is more limited than some advocates claim) can't make up for it. drawdown.org/insights/reg...

The above post is good for making the point that transport is often only a tiny % of food emissions, especially for beef. See below about regenerative grazing. Counterintuitively, finishing beef on grass actually *increases* methane emissions & land requirements per pound of beef vs. conventional.

If you think āBig Oilā has a hold on Washington, have you met āBig Agā?
Monthly sales are noisy. Even quarter to quarter can be. There's a lot of over-reporting on these short-term trends in EV sales. If we zoom out, do we really see electric vehicle sales slowing? Total sales dont seem to be slowing (1st derivative of trend is +). # 1 of 2 šš” šš
I agree. Although some investment in nature based CDR now is probably worth doing, while doing more research on it and industrial methods. But spending billions of public dollars on CCS and DAC? Insane.
But itās still a good tool to keep in our toolbox for soil erosion, water quality, etc. Better yet? Cutting back on beef and restoring overgrazed lands to nature.
